New Whites Stevens Boot, 1620 Workwear, Red Clouds Collective, and new merch!
Welcome back to another hot and delicious installment of Coffee with Carl!
This week we look at some new products, both unique and familiar and prepare for the coming warm weather.
1620 Hooded NYCO Shirt
1620 Workwear is one of my favorite American made workwear brands. They continue to push the envelope of tech fabric workwear with their NYCO fabric with the hooded long sleeve shirt. This is especially nice for those times where you need a little more coverage but less bulk. Hooded long sleeve shirts are becoming more popular, but are still a rarity among a sea of pocket tees.
MSR Titan – Titanium Cookware
Titanium cookware used to be an exotic choice for hardcore lightweight backpackers, but MSR is changing all that with their Titan camping cookware. Lightweight, corrosion resistant, and cool as hell titanium is more affordable than it’s ever been!
Red Clouds Collective Witham Shirt
Red Clouds Collective is best known for expensive waxed canvas pants and overalls, but their new flannel shirt looks fantastic. A classic green colorway in 100% cotton flannel which is expensive, but less than half of an Iron Heart.
Oris Aquis Update
Oris has updated their Aquis Date watch, which has been my go-to for several years running. Originally I wanted the Rolex Submariner “Hulk” but this was much less expensive and, more importantly, available! They’ve done a very subtle update to elements like the face, hands, and lugs, but not anything dramatic (thankfully!!). The green is still my favorite color option.
Whites Stevens Boot
Whites seem to have their sights set on Viberg with the new Stevens Dress Cap Toe Boot. Handsewn construction, a sleeker last, and 5″ height make this a dressier option of the Whites lineup. Expensive too, at $720!
Edwin Japan – Ranch Jacket
A simple, yet rugged jacket which should play nicely in the warmer weather thanks to being entirely unlined. Black selvedge denim, brass snaps, and a classic layout at a very reasonable price compared to some others.
Light Denim Season
Like your favorite sunglasses, lighter colored denim is polarizing. I’ve embraced the lighter shades of natural, ecru, and tan denim for the summer though, and I think you should too. Below are two options from Samurai and Kato Brand which look fantastic, but to be honest I prefer the cheaper Kato for its 4-way stretch and affordability.
