Special guest Eugenia from Gaucho’s boots joins us in this episode!
Meet Eugenia, shoemaker and owner of Gauchos Boots
I originally met Eugenia several years ago as she was leaving the womens fashion side of shoemaking and looking to get into mens heritage work boots. She is a singularly kind and warm person, and I think you’ll enjoy our lighthearted conversation in this special episode. You can find more of her work here: https://www.instagram.com/gauchosboots/
Homestead Brand X Carl Murawski
Remember Homestead Brand? Three former Nicks Boots employees set off to make handmade leather goods, and are making huge strides! After purchasing some equipment and patterns from Dustin of Vermilyea Pelle, Homestead Brand jumped several tiers ahead with their bags. Our special collaboration is in shrunken bison from Law Tanning here in the USA. Solid brass hardware, YKK zippers, and a perfectly simple set of designs make these the perfect companion to those of us who love and appreciate PNW boots.
Carhartt National Parks Collection
Carhartt has released a special limited edition line of National Park styled hats and tees for men, women, and kids. Choose from several National Parks like Sequoia, Yellowstone, or Denali in a fun and vibrant colorway.
Pay Day Workwear
Pay Day might not be a household name, but Cockpit USA recently purchased the brand after being defunct for some time. It appears that they’re making some heritage workwear pieces with dead stock Cone Mills among other fabrics, but these pieces are still priced quite high in their category.
Studio D’artisan Sashiko Work Shirt
You likely won’t really “work” in this work shirt, but that beautiful sashiko fabric is too beautiful to ignore. Done up in a classic makeup, this could be another one of those few extra-special shirts in your closet.
Weatherwool South Shore Chore Coat
With a name that challenges even the best tongue twister, Weatherwool has released a wonderfully simple coat in the South Shore Chore Coat. It’s based on the classic French Chore Coat which has evolved over the past century from a practical uniform worn by blue-collar laborers to a perfect modern day staple.
Weird Pick: Indi + Ash Issac Pant in Desert Husk Camo
Supposedly this wild pattern in hues of pink and mango blends in perfectly with the sand dunes. Of course, few people will be wearing these pants in those conditions. Still, I’ll bet more than one person will be able to rock these in style, but don’t expect Eugenia to be impressed if you wear these on date!
